junior leaders (jl) program (coming fall 2022)

ICCan’s Junior Leaders (JL) program seeks to empower youth through practical education and mentorship that which can be applied in their day-to-day lives.  The goal of our JL program is to provide high school students with an opportunity to 1) form relationships with university student mentors, 2) gain practical skills in the realm of inclusion and adapted programming, and 3) gain practical experience by volunteering as part of ICCan’s various initiatives. With the JL program, we hope to foster interpersonal relationships in the context of adapted sport & play to build leadership skills, improve confidence, and promote the importance of inclusion among our youth.

Junior Leaders is launching in Toronto in September, 2022. More information to follow!

PLAYGROUND PALS

Playground Pals is an inclusive drop-in based program designed to facilitate play on playgrounds for children and youth with and without disabilities. Our goal is to provide opportunities for children to be physically active, to benefit from local playgrounds regardless of ability level, and to develop an early appetite for outdoor play. This program is led by trained play leaders and consists of structured and unstructured inclusive activities.

Playground Pals was launched in the summer of 2021 in partnershipt with ParticipACTION. Please contact us if you are intersted in learning more and/or engaging with Playground Pals in your community!
